Breathe - (The Earth-Formed Maid/The First Woman) Description: Sometimes the obstacles strewn across our paths can cause us to run into each other making everything seem that much bigger and that much heavier. Everything races at us, the noise around us fades as the sound of our own hearts and thoughts become deafening. Sometimes we forget to slow down, to reflect and just breathe. Legend: Tanemahuta (God of the Forest) sought to make a mortal woman. Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) instructed Tane to fashion the woman from the Kurawaka, the red clay made by the mingling of her own blood with that of the Ranginui (The Sky Father). Under the instruction of Ranginui, Tanemahuta was shown how to weave the pattern of life into the cloak that Papatuanuku adorned. He then breathed life into the woman, and her name was Hineahuone.
